Above all else, Vyncent wanted success. He wanted to win at everything he put his hand to and the only time he had ever lost was when he had played Lucifer back in The Fork Tongued Card Room. It had been a lesson to him that day, and ever since he had been determined that he would always punish the weak and collect their most prized possessions. As he sucked half of Lady Lillian Harrow’s soul from her limp body as she lay at his mercy he knew this would be punishment enough for this lonely woman who had lost her husband so early in The Great War. Vyncent wouldn’t have been the first man she had entertained since his death, but he would certainly be the last. He would leave her between living and dead. The only thing keeping her going would be her desire to see Vyncent again and to experience another night of pleasure. It would be the only thing she would crave. She would wait for him forever. He dressed as she dozed and he watched her chest rise and fall in the candlelight. He didn’t want to leave her there. He easily could have ravaged her again but the sun was coming up and he wanted to be out of The Harrow Estate before chambermaids and butlers came snooping. He had collected some gold and jewels from her safe and had stowed them inside his jacket. He would be back for more now he had instant access and another good reason to return. Lady Lillian was ruined. No other man would touch her after she had disgraced herself at the ball in front of all those important people. Her husband had not even been dead six months and she had publically kissed and asked to be taken to bed by a stranger in front of hundreds. Vyncent smiled as he remembered the game so well. “Goodbye Lillian,” he whispered before he lent down and kissed her on the cheek. “Until next time.” He left her there and made his way down the darkened corridor and to grand staircase. As he collected his cape from the doorway and made his way down the drive he turned and looked back at the magnificent house. It was his now. As was the lady inside. He had won the estate the moment he had seduced her. Lady Lillian Harrow woke as dawn broke and she shivered against the cold. She was naked and alone but she sat up with the feeling that someone was there. She looked around the room and rubbed her head. She was confused. She couldn’t even remember what day it was. What had happened to her She bit her lips and pulled the sheets around herself. As she looked down at her arms she traced the lines of a deep red scratch that ran along from her wrist up to her shoulder. She peeled the sheet away and saw similar markings across her entire body. They burned with a beautiful pain that bordered on an exquisite pleasure. Vyncent. The memories all came flooding back at once and she hugged into herself and breathed in his scent that was still lingering on her skin. He was embedded in her now. He was all she could think about and she would never wash or leave that room until he returned. She howled at his loss as she looked around and lamented his absence.“Vyncent,” she wailed, “Come back to me.” Somewhere across the meadows he could hear her and that dangerous grin surfaced once more.
